DealShare turns unicorn; raises new round at $1.6 Bn valuation

DealShare, a social commerce startup focused on groceries and essentials, has raised around $130 million in its Series E round, putting it in the exclusive club of unicorns. This is DealShare’s first round in 2022.

According to regulatory filings, DealShare has approved the allotment of 42983 series E CCPS to raise Rs 968.67 crore (roughly $130 million). Tiger Global led the round with $39.1 million, followed by Alpha Wave, Kora Investment, DF International Partners, and Twenty Nine Capital Partners, who each contributed $31.3 million, $27.4 million, $19.6 million, and $11.7 million.

The new funds were raised at a post-money valuation of $1.62 billion by DealShare. In just seven months, its value has increased by more than 3.6 times. During its Series D round in July 2021, it was valued at $455 million. With this round, the company has now raised a total of $313 million in funding.

DealShare, based in Jaipur, is an inventory-driven platform for managing supply chains and logistics in larger cities. It currently operates in ten states and over 100 cities, with plans to expand to twenty states and 300 cities and towns. In 2021, the company claimed to have generated $700 million in gross revenue.

It also has a group buying component, similar to China’s Pinduoduo. It assists retailers in obtaining bulk inventory in addition to selling to consumers.
